[edit] Description

AutoShutdown is a handy application that helps Windows users automate their system shutdown, using time delays. AutoShutdown waits until the user-specified time has elapsed, before proceeding to shutdown the system.

Note: An offsite hosting URL may be added in the future.

[edit] Usage

AutoShutdown is incredibly easy to use. Simply follow these steps:

  • Enter a shutdown time delay.
  • Specify whether the delay is in seconds, minutes, hours, or days (via the drop-down list).
  • Click the Initiate Shutdown button to begin the automated shutdown process.

To cancel an automated shutdown at any time, simply click the Stop Shutdown button (or alternatively, select Stop Shutdown from the File menu).

[edit] Future Considerations

A list of possible future AutoShutdown features:

  • Minimize AutoShutdown to the system tray.
  • A System Restart (rather than just System Shutdown) feature.
  • Ability to specify whether AutoShutdown is automatically run on system startup.
  • Remote PC shutdown.
  • OSX/UNIX support.
